Tribal Counsel is for the teens ages 13-18 (middle school through high school). Sukkot is a time for the youth to meet like-minded peers that walk in Torah and love Messiah. A great aspect of the Tribal Counsel is for those that are just coming into Torah with their parents to see others walking this lifestyle with joy and passion. YES, there are others out there with weird parents who are looking for friends just like you!
The name "Tribal Counsel" is given to this group to reflect that each member of the youth/teens will contribute to make this a success for everyone involved. With activities like miniature golf, hikes, survival skills, a scavenger hunt, teachings, midrash (discussions) with peers and questions for peers and adults, this is sure to be a great experience.
We need you to help in this area. All parents of teens are expected to help make this a great time for the teens of the entire camp. We need to let our youth see us worship with passion and be examples of what their future communities will look like.
A typical day within the Tribal Counsel will begin at 1 p.m. and will continue throughout the afternoon. While not meeting, the group will be encouraged to work as S.I.T.'s (Security in Training). This is an important part of the Feast logistics as we need help with everyday wear and tear on the campground, as well as, errands and other needs that arise.
During the evening worship, the teens are encouraged to sit with their families and then come together for dance and worship as a group. After the camp quiet time begins, all Tribal Counsel members are required to be at campsites with their parent's consent.
We look forward to having a good time with the Tribal Counsel this year. Join us in making this a memorable time for the teens in our camp.
