Exodus 34:22-24
22 "You shall celebrate the Feast of Weeks, that is, the first
fruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the
turn of the year. 23 "Three times a year all your males are
to appear before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel. 24 "For
I will drive out nations before you and enlarge your borders, and
no man shall covet your land when you go up three times a year to
appear before the LORD your God."
Leviticus 23: 4, 39-43
4 'These are the appointed times of the LORD, holy convocations
which you shall proclaim at the times appointed for them. 39 'On
exactly the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered
in the crops of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the LORD
for seven days, with a rest on the first day and a rest on the eighth
day.
40 'Now on the first day you shall take for yourselves the foliage
of beautiful trees, palm branches and boughs of leafy trees and
willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the LORD your
God for seven days. 41 'You shall thus celebrate it as a feast to
the LORD for seven days in the year. It shall be a perpetual
statute throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the
seventh month. 42 'You shall live in booths for seven days;
all the native-born in Israel shall live in booths, 43 so that your
generations may know that I had the sons of Israel live in booths
when I brought them out from the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your
God.'"
Deut. 14:22-27
22 Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields
produce each year. 23 Eat the tithe of your grain, new
wine and oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the
presence of the LORD your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling
for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the LORD your God
always. 24 But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed
by the LORD your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place
where the LORD will choose to put his Name is so far away), 25 then
exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and
go to the place the LORD your God will choose. 26 Use the silver
to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented
drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat
there in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice.
27 And do not neglect the Levites living in your towns, for they
have no allotment or inheritance of their own.
Deuteronomy 16:13-26
13 "You shall celebrate the Feast of Booths seven days after
you have gathered in from your threshing floor and your wine vat;
14 and you shall rejoice in your feast, you and your son and your
daughter and your male and female servants and the Levite and the
stranger and the orphan and the widow who are in your towns. 15
"Seven days you shall celebrate a feast to the LORD your God
in the place which the LORD chooses, because the LORD your
God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your
hands, so that you will be altogether joyful. 16 "Three
times in a year all your males shall appear before the LORD your
God in the place which He chooses, at the Feast of Unleavened Bread
and at the Feast of Weeks and at the Feast of Booths, and they shall
not appear before the LORD empty-handed. 17 "Every man shall
give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God
which He has given you.
Deuteronomy 31:10-13
10 Then Moses commanded them, saying, "At the end of every
seven years, at the time of the year of remission of debts, at
the Feast of Booths, 11 when all Israel comes to appear
before the LORD your God at (18) the place which He will choose,
you shall read this law in front of all Israel in their hearing.
12 "Assemble the people, the men and the women and
children and the alien who is in your town, so that they may hear
and learn and fear the LORD your God, and be careful to observe
all the words of this law. 13 "Their children, who
have not known, will hear and learn to fear the LORD your God, as
long as you live on the land which you are about to cross the Jordan
to possess."
Numbers 10:10
"Also in the day of your gladness
and in your appointed feasts, and on the first days of your months,
you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over
the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be
as a reminder of you before your God. I am the LORD your God."
2 Chronicles 2:4-8
"Behold, I am about to build a house
for the name of the LORD my God, dedicating it to Him, (5) to burn
fragrant incense before Him and to set out (6) the showbread continually,
and to offer (7) burnt offerings morning and evening, (8) on sabbaths
and on new moons and on the appointed feasts of the LORD our God,
this being required forever in Israel.
Psalm 122:1-4
I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of
the LORD." 2 Our feet are standing Within your gates, O Jerusalem,
3 Jerusalem, that is built As a city that is compact together; 4
To which the tribes go up, even the tribes of the LORD--
An ordinance for Israel-- To give thanks to the name of
the LORD.
Lamentations 1:4-5 4
The roads of Zion are in mourning because no one comes to
the appointed feasts. All her gates are desolate; Her priests
are groaning, Her virgins are afflicted, And she herself is bitter.
5 Her adversaries have become her masters, Her enemies prosper;
For the LORD has caused her grief because of the
multitude of her transgressions; Her little ones have gone away
As captives before the adversary.
Ezekiel 44: 23-24
23 "Moreover, they shall teach My people the difference between
the holy and the profane, and cause them to discern between the
unclean and the clean. 24 "In a dispute they shall take their
stand to judge; they shall judge it according to My ordinances.
They shall also keep My laws and My statutes in all My appointed
feasts and sanctify My sabbaths.
Zechariah 14: 16-17
16 Then it will come about that any who are left of all the nations
that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year
to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to celebrate the Feast
of Booths. 17 And it will be that whichever of the families of the
earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD
of hosts, there will be no rain on them.
